It has been brought to our attention that the producer of the Medina catheters in Europe intends to stop production. This will directly impact those with an Ileoanal Pouch or Kock Pouch, if they currently use Medina Catheters.

Ileostomy & Internal Pouch Association is working with BHTA (British Healthcare Trade Association) and ACPGBI (Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland) and other medical professionals to find an alternative product that we hope will eventually be available on prescription.

In the meantime, we advise any patient who is currently using a Medina catheter to stock up on their supplies to last until an alternative product can be sourced.
